17th Annual Women of Achievement Awards

Cribs for Kids celebrates Women’s History Month in March by hosting the annual Women of Achievement Awards. Pittsburgh-based honorees are nominated and selected based on excellence in their field, making a significant contribution to the betterment of their communities, or outstanding accomplishments for the advancement of women.

This year, the 17th Annual Women of Achievement Awards, hosted by Heather Abraham and sponsored by UPMC and the Pittsburgh Penguins, will take place on March 27, 2024. Cribs for Kids will recognize 20 Women of Achievement, 2 National Women of Achievement, and 6 Junior Women of Achievement at the Omni William Penn in downtown Pittsburgh.

Meet Roxanne Elizabeth Epperson

Roxanne Elizabeth Epperson, BS, is the visionary CEO and Founder of Women Against Abusive Relationships (WAAR) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, dedicated to breaking the cycle of violence against women and girls. An esteemed author, Roxanne penned “Unhealthy Relationships: Let’s Stop the Madness” and co-authored “Woman RISE,” a powerful compilation on resilience. As the creative force behind products and services promoting self-awareness and self-love, including the innovative After Shelter Kare (ASK) Program, Roxanne believes in empowering individuals to avoid unhealthy relationships through self-love. Having survived a life-threatening abusive relationship, Roxanne’s personal mission is to bring global awareness to gender-based violence and aid one million abused women and girls in their healing journey. Recognized as the Survivor of the Year with a 2022 Purple Ribbon Award from Theresa’s Fund, Roxanne’s advocacy reaches new heights as she serves on the Pennsylvania Behavioral Health Council Advisory Committee. 🌟
