How Are You, Really?

Roxanne E. Epperson is the Executive Director and Founder of Women Against Abusive Relationships (WAAR). After surviving an abusive relationship that almost took her life, and multiple sexual assaults and rape, she became passionately committed to ending violence in women and girls’ lives. Roxanne realized that her survival was a blessing from God that allows her to use a life-threatening experience to prevent others from suffering the same.

“You did not deserve it, and it was not your fault even if the perpetrator says it was.”

“Ignore the stereotypes or the stigma that if you go to therapy you’re crazy…actually you’re showing courage and you are taking the first step towards healing.”

“I turned my sour lemons into sweet juicy lemonade.”
